Wire Aid started with Carl Sorensen. Born in 1940 in Denmark, Scandinavia, Carl grew up in post war Europe with a strong understanding of the importance of peace and freedom.
He valued the need to keep people safe, serving in the United Nations Peace Keeping Force on the Gaza Strip during the Middle Eastern conflict in the 1960s.
In 1988, he and his comrades were awarded a Nobel Peace Prize for their contribution.
Carl emigrated to Australia with his family in 1982. He maintained a strong focus on safety, working in the construction and rigging industry to manufacture safety products.
In the early 2000s, Carl led the redesign of the wire hose restraint. He helped to provide a safer, more reliable product to protect people working in high-risk industries.
Carl and his son-in-law Adrian Marlow founded Wire Aid in 2007. They combined Carl’s product and industry knowledge with Adrian’s many years of managerial and health and safety experience.
Wire Aid was built on a shared passion for keeping people safe and we continue to value the importance of safety in everything we do.
